VIVA CHLÖE!

One of the most iconic images of the 20th Century is the poster of Che Guevara, the Argentinian doctor who became a communist icon. The original was produced not long after Guevara was killed in Bolivia and caused worldwide controversy. It became so famous partly because the artist made all the images copyright-free. Guevara ironically, became a symbol of the anti-Vietnam war movement and still to this day is worn on t-shirts by pacifist and anti-establishment youth who may not know the darker history of the man behind the image.
My version is of Chlöe Swarbrick, whom I admire for her intelligence, drive and strong stand for the environment. When I made this she had only just become an MP, in 2024 she was elected as Co-Leader of the NZ Green Party. So Viva Chlöe has hopefully become even more iconic.
